Hardop leven
From 12 April to 25 May 2025, the solo exhibition Hardop leven (“Living out loud”) by Marloes De Vries will be on display in the Spiegelzaal at Willem Twee (Den Bosch).

Marloes De Vries (Emmen, 1984) is an artist, illustrator and writer. Her work exists at the intersection of image and text, focusing on themes such as mental resilience, identity, and challenging societal expectations. She creates graphic novels, illustrations and autonomous artworks in which she intertwines her personal experiences with universal questions.
In her work, Marloes explores how being different relates to rejection, adaptation and self-acceptance. Inspired by her own experiences with neurodivergence, she gives form to the complexity of these emotions. Her clear visual language, imbued with both humour and sensitivity, makes difficult topics accessible to a wide audience.
For Hardop leven (“Living out loud”), Marloes created a new series of works, including pieces on canvas, panel, paper and in ceramic. Through these works, she gives shape to the complexity of these emotions and invites viewers to reflect on resilience, vulnerability, and the power of self-reflection.
