Creative (rest) retreat in Wales
Creating work that truly reflects who you are—something with your own unmistakable voice—relies on feeling at home in both your body and mind.
For years, I felt as though my mind was floating somewhere above me, disconnected from the body that carried me through the world. But stepping back, giving myself the space for a proper reset, has been a total game-changer.
Reconnecting with myself has, in turn, reignited mycreativity in ways I never expected. I want to offer you a reset as well. That’s why I’d love to take you to Wales with me!
Ready to treat yourself to rest and creativity?
I had a wild dream: to create a retreat where you get a lot of time to rest, to be in nature and inhale fresh air. To create drawings and paintings that are close to your own creative core. My dream was to find a place in my favourite country (the UK), that’s a true place of quiet and calm.
I’ve found that and that dream is now a reality! I’ve organised this creative (rest) retreat in Wales (UK), from 11 to 15 August 2025.
I hope you’ll join me on this wonderful adventure!

What you can expect:
Creative workshops to reconnect with your creative self
During this week you will join several creative workshops, guided by Marloes. And no worries: you don’t need to be a professional artist for the workshops. The workshops are adjusted to your needs.
Through experiments with different materials and by being encouraged to try new ways of working, you will find your personal voice in your creative practice.
You will do an excercise to create more freely and intuitive, which also helps with creative blocks. Through this practice you will gain confidence in your art making.
Another class is on how to work bigger, bolder and more loosely. You will learn to understand the rules of art but then to let go of them, to be able to create your own view.
You will go out in nature with fellow creatives and learn how to look differently at the landscape. You will learn new ways of capturing a landscape in drawing and painting, by tuning into what you’re feeling.
Luxury
All the rooms are finished to a high standard, but there are different options: Shared rooms and shared bathrooms if you’re on a smaller budget and deluxe single rooms with freestanding baths and walk-in showers.
The location is top notch: there will be a professional masseuse to your call at all times, a nature swimming pool for a morning or evening dip, a sauna to sweat out your stress and hot tubs to relax in. Every meal will be prepared by a private professional chef, with organic produce, most of it sourced locally.
Peace, quiet and rest
This entire retreat week is set up in such a way to make sure you get some rest and quiet time. The farm is located on a mountain with views over three counties. It’s utterly quiet and the sky is so dark that you can count all the stars.
Green surrounds and nature have been scientifically proven to be excellent for your physical and mental well-being, so expect a boost during this week!
Small group and intimate setting
Because the group size is limited, there will be plenty of time for 1-to-1 guidance and personal instruction. You have a chance to get to know your fellow creatives.
You will stay on a farm with just the other participants and Marloes, and during the day there will be a few members of staff to make sure you’re being pampered.
Additional workshops
You will not only get art classes during this week: you will get a sound bath session in the beginning of the week, to start your week in the most calm way. You will also go on a guided walk with a local expert, who will tell you about the area. During the week you will get to joing a Nature Connection Experience, which will learn you have to feel deeply rooted in nature, and look at your surrounds in a different way.
